Karin Schaupp & Mary-Anne Kyriakou

In July of 2007, at the Seymour Centre, in Sydney, Karin Schaupp performed an exciting programme of contemporary music for guitar by Australian composers, with performances accompanied by a designed light show. The programme featured the world premiere of Transcend, a new work composed for solo guitar and lighting by Mary-Anne Kyriakou.

Mary-Anne Kyriakou

Mary-Anne Kyriakou lives in Bondi, Sydney, Australia. Through winning a creative arts grant Mary-Anne wrote and produced her new music theatre (opera) work The Game Master, first performed in at the Seymour Theatre as part of the Sydney University Arts Festival in 2003. Mary-Anne chooses to express music and theatre as a dramatic art form often juxtaposing electronic influences with traditional instruments and use of multimedia. Mary-Anne also writes electronic music and sound scapes for local and international radio.

Mary-Anne Kyriakou works as a qualified senior lighting designer in the commercial sector. She has been on the executive board of the Illuminating Engineering Society for the past two years and has work published in Lighting Magazine. Lighting is an integral part of Mary-Anne's work.
